At what temperature are the silicone and EPDM prototypes rated?
We create both the silicone and EPDM rubber prototypes from production-grade material, so each material meets the standard temperature rating of our catalog production parts! The silicone prototypes are rated to 600°F/315°C, and the EPDM rubber prototypes are rated to 350°F/177°C.
How do they perform as opposed to production tool parts?
These prototypes are made from production-grade material, so you won't see any difference in their performance than you would from a final product!
How many samples will we receive?
Due to continuious improvements in our prototyping process, we can create up to 50 sample parts depending on the design complexity.
How much will this cost?
Pricing typically ranges around $4,000-$6,000 depending on the size, complexity, and quantity needed. However, this is a huge cost savings compared to the $10,000-$15,000 prototype tooling and set-up charges we've seen from other silicone or rubber prototype molders. And you can avoid the high prices and long delays of having to ship your parts from overseas!
How long will it take before I receive physical parts to test?
This may depend on the complexity of the part and number of samples requested, but in general, we push to get these parts to you within 5 business days after we receive a PO.
